Highlights of term 1

Hi everyone,

I am talking about what was the best thing that happend to me in term 1 

The best thing that happend to me in term 1 was meeting a hero named Ben Carson He was so inspiring because he saves peoples lives .Now he inspires me to do anything I want and to try my hardest and study hard. I am following his foot steps to make my dream come true.

Back to school!!!

 Back to school.What am I going to learn this term [term 2].Am I going to learn a new strategy in maths? My goal for this term is to move a little higher in my maths and my reading. I am ready for new learning and ready for challenging tasks in my maths. I was really nervous at first but then my nervousness was gone and then I got a little excited.What I'm looking forward to is learning more strategies in my maths because that is the challenging subject for me. But when I get used to it, it will be as easy as the other subjects. As the day went by slowly I started to remember the strategies that I had forgotten. And as the school finished,I felt  the day was not so bad at all.It was awesome and exiciting.I cant wait till tomorrow. as it will be another challenging day

Hello my lovely class mates!

I'm going to tell you about my most challenging task. Yes we had to do an "I wonder project". At first I didn't  faith in myself. But Mrs Karan said  to believe in myself and  to decide on my project. My passion was always to learn more about Saturn and its rings but then Mrs Karan told us about pig products. Yes pig-parts turned into products and I was really eager to find out more about it. I thought WOW!That was lot of  hard work but  I kept my chin up and gave  my best. I will always be the BEST I can.and because of my postive attitude  I managed to finish it and present it too. If you believe in yourself you can do anything.So friends have-SELF-BELIEF

Hooray ! We are back at school again for another new term with our wonderful teacher.                                                                                                                                I cant "WAIT" for all the learning to happen! when I walk in  I find all my friends  have grown taller. I grab my poem book and I see all the amazing poems that we read!My favourite poem was The Blue Dress. I like that poem because it is like a play but it is actually a poem!The message of the poem is  to listen with understanding.You know that is one of the most important habits of mind.that is a habit of mind.Now I am ready for new learning and new challenges!

Highlights of term1

Hi my name is Caleb
 I am nine years old and this year changed my life because for the first time ever I got one of the best teachers in school , Mrs Karan!!!My brother told me she is cool and he was right.That's a highlight for me. Another highlight is learning lots of new strategies in maths like how to multiply two digits faster and how to subtract 3 and 4 digit numbers  faster.My third highlight was going to Dr.Ben Carson's speech.It was a wonderful speech because he said to not respect -PEERS that means people who encourage -errors,rudeness and stupidity.One of my favourite highlight is getting to do manga art  which  originated from Japan and my last highlight is getting to do my" I wonder project "on robots.I'm looking forward to doing another amazing project this term.

Highlights of term 1 and first day of term 2

I will never forget that in term 1, I did my I wonder project which was on  deep sea creatures called the Goblin sharks .Homework every Monday made my brain buzz. Yes I mean it ! At the end of term 1 a lot of us won prizes and we all got Easter eggs.Yummy! Going to school on the first day of term 2, I didn't want to go back at first, but I did go to school . It was more fun than staying at home during the holidays. Coming to school feels exciting and comfortable . I really like school because I come to school to learn and to also to meet new friends. School is cool!

Hi friends, get ready because I'm about to make your day bright and brilliant. My highlights of term one are meeting a lot of new friends and I have the bestest teacher again .HA! HA! I mean the best. what next ,my goals. I have improved my basic facts test score and I'm getting near to 100 \100.Do you want to hear my excellent  experience and you wouldn't guess who I have met, Dr Ben Carson. What an awesome experience. The moment I saw him I was determined to follow my dreams just like how he did. Thank you for reading our blog, and I hope you have learnt something about how fun term1s has been  for me.

This is my highlight of the term -My I wonder project.
My I wonder project was a bit stressfull in the beginning because my topic was about the brain.In the beginning I got a lot of information. I was blown away by the information that I printed. I was going so crazy about sorting out where would I put it or how will I organize it.My model helped me in many ways .At the end it was time to present my I wonder project .There was a storm rumbling in my head and my tummy  but I was so confident .After  I spkoe about the brain I felt like a star.My model dazzled everybody's brain.

Highlights of term1

Art was my highlight of term1. I was so excited as Mrs Ogilvy always has something good planned for us. Our art work was Manga. Manga is a comic Japanese art. we did the face only. We had to use a very great technique called Pointilism. Pointilism is a technique where you use thousands of little dots. When you look at it from a far  the colours actually blend together. The most important thing on the face was the eyes, the eyes were absolutely beautiful. They were like big sparkling diamonds in the sky. When it was finally finished all of the artwork was beautiful. Some of them had green, blue, yellow, red, orange,  pink and purple for their eyes and hair. That was the best Manga experience that I have ever done.

Dear readers
Welcome to my incredible story of first day of school 2012.
Questions in my mind ,butterflies in my stomach. Wondering who is going to be my new mysterious teacher. Is it going to be a man or a woman.?Are they going to be mean or kind? Will we have to always stay inside and never see light again? Finally I heard my name being called out, so I looked towards the direction from where the voice came from, who was that ? It was my teacher I had  2 years ago. Suddenly the butterflies flew away because I knew that my teacher for this year was going to be great .So a big big smile grew on my lovely face.Ha!Ha!

Highlights of term 1 - Doctor Ben Carsons inspirational talk

Hi again,

Kia Ora my highlight of term 1 was getting to go and listen to Dr Ben Carson's inspirational talk about following your dreams.He was such an inspirational hero to me. His motto "THINK BIG" has impacted on me. It has impacted on me so much that now I try to do anything like him. Now I am determined to have an awesome career like being a Neuro - Surgeon.

Also each person has an intellectuall talent which is is not like being able to throw a ball or sing, it is like having a learning talent. I was thrilled to have been able to go and listen to his speech. If you would like  to know more about him you could read his book called "Gifted Hands"

First day of term2

        

First day of term 2                 
                                    

The first day of term 2. My goal for this term is to improve my reading and to get 100% on all basic facts tests this term. We are getting prepared for our big spelling test on Friday.( we got 120 words  to learn).Hopefully I get most  of them right. Yes we got art again with Mrs O and we're doing something new this term. What a lovely  day to start  term 2. To achieve my goals I am going to read books from the book club and to check my work after I've finished it quickly.

Ben carson what an inspirational man. He`s is an inspiration to  all of us. He`s what people dream to become.And to meet him at Telstra Clear was amazing because he told us about achieving our goals and believing in miracles .Now even the teachers are inspired by him.So I am going to try to achieve my goal by using my persistence and showing my determination. I hope you will achieve your goal too .

"I wonder" project

Hey friends,
We have just completed the most hectic challenge. We had to do a science project and I decided to do my project on batteries. I was really tired from having my eyes glued to the computer for hours and hours. Luckily Mrs Karan came to the rescue and she helped me with my work.I decided to do a powerpoint presentation, so I thought that was going to be easy.But NO I was wrong. I had so many facts in my head that my head was spinning. I made a model of a battery, that was quite easy. When I finally finished I was jumping with joy but soon my joy vanished when  I got told that we had to present our projects in front of the deputy principal!That was really scary because I thought I was going to faint!! But in the end I was really proud of myself for actually doing the presentation in front of Mrs Woods. I wish we can do another one but I want to make sure that I am better prepared next time.
